Plot Summary:

Aditya Kashyap (Shahid Kapoor) is a depressed and heartbroken industrialist who has just attended the wedding of his ex-girlfriend, who has married someone else. Feeling despondent, Aditya aimlessly boards a train, planning to leave his current life behind.

On the train, he encounters Geet Dhillon (Kareena Kapoor), a lively, talkative, and carefree young woman who is on her way back home to Bhatinda, Punjab. Geet is enthusiastic about life and dreams of eloping with her boyfriend, Anshuman.

Geet’s incessant chatter and zest for life initially irritate Aditya, but he soon becomes intrigued by her. In a series of misadventures, they miss their train and embark on a journey together. After spending some time with Geet’s warm and welcoming family, Geet tells Aditya about her plan to run away to Manali to be with Anshuman. Aditya helps her execute this plan. However, when Geet meets Anshuman, he rejects her, leaving her heartbroken and stranded.

Nine months later, Aditya has successfully turned his life around and is now the dynamic head of his company. He is still concerned about Geet and feels responsible for her. He tracks her down and finds her in a disheartened state, living in a convent school in Shimla.

Aditya brings Geet back to her family, pretending they are in love to avoid upsetting them. During their stay, they develop genuine feelings for each other. However, complications arise when Anshuman comes back into the picture, wanting to reconcile with Geet.

In the end, Geet realizes her true feelings for Aditya and rejects Anshuman. She confesses her love for Aditya, and they finally get together, marking the beginning of their new life together.
